Overview

The highly residential areas of Glover Park and Woodley Park, and smaller area of Cathedral Heights are along the Connecticut Ave. corridor. Known for their historic row houses and 8-storied apartment complexes, many residents call these neighborhoods home.

Connecticut Ave. is a busy corridor with both local and chain restaurants, stores, offices, and several tourist attractions. Possibly the most noted attraction is the National Zoo with its main entrance on Connecticut Ave. However, the residential neighborhoods on the side streets are wooded with lots of trees and curving streets that hug Rock Creek Park.

Cathedral Heights to the Northwest corner of this area is home to the National Cathedral at Mt. St. Albans site. This smaller neighborhood is a continuation of the Glover Park, Woodley Park residential area and businesses that line the Connecticut Ave. corridor.

Glover Park/Woodley Park and Cathedral Heights are bordered by Woodley Rd. and the Cleveland Park neighborhood to the North, Georgetown neighborhood and Rock Creek Park to the South, the National Zoo and Rock Creek Park to the East, and Archibald-Glover Park to the West.

Because of its central location between American University, Georgetown University, University of the District of Colombia, nearby George Washington University, John Hopkins SAIS, and Howard University students live in the Glover Park/Woodley Park neighborhood.
