Dupont CircleHousing | Points of Interest | Historical Information | TransportationOverviewConsidered one of the most popular and trendy neighborhoods in DC, Dupont includes many areas such as Embassy Row, The Circle, and parts of The Golden Triangle, a promotionally named section of Washington D.C.'s downtown commercial district. Dupont Circle is known for its many upscale business and office buildings by day as well as popular restaurants and bars by night. Culturally, Dupont Circle has a history of being DC's gay area, as a number of gay owned businesses and bars were originally located in the area (although many have moved towards Logan Circle as the city gentrifies). The Circle itself is also a popular meeting place and grassy area to relax on warm, sunny days. Starting just past Scott Circle to the Southwest and continuing through Dupont Circle to the Northwest on Massachusetts Avenue is known as Embassy Row. Many countries have their embassies and consulate offices along this street. Due to the high demand of businesses and people wanting to be located in Dupont Circle, the boundaries are often skewed and stretched (although the Neighborhood Advisory Commission has its own defining borders). Its borders are roughly considered Florida and U St. to the North, M St. to the South, Rock Creek Pkwy and 22nd St. to the West, and 15th St. to the East. People going to school at The George Washington University, John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, or Georgetown University; working in one of the many embassies and consulate offices; or working downtown often consider residing in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. Return to topHousingWith its close proximity to Georgetown and Georgetown University, The George Washington University, Downtown, The White House, and countless businesses and offices, Dupont Circle is one of the most highly sought after neighborhoods for housing by diplomats, executives, and young professionals alike. Many of the apartments are well kept or have been recently remodeled. Renters can expect studios to start at $1300/mo and it is common for a one-bedroom to be $2000/mo. Below are several featured buildings in this neighborhood for consideration. Be sure to check with each apartments' property management company for more information, availability, and current prices. And don’t be afraid to contact them! Most renters need to give 30-60 days moving notice. If you know you’re moving in the next few months, have them keep track of apartments coming available for you.
