Atlas/Trinidad

Overview

The Atlas and Trinidad neighborhoods are two areas that surround the south and east side of Gallaudet University. The Atlas neighborhood is actually named after a branding campaign to revitalize the historic Atlas Theater, now known as the Atlas Performing Arts Center. The area has seen a resurgence in the past decade with new restaurants, bars, and businesses moving to the H Street Corridor in what is often referred to as the Near Northeast area.

The Trinidad neighborhood is just to the northeast of the Atlas District and is comprised of mostly residential housing and student housing for Gallaudet University. The area is bordered by New York Ave and Gallaudet University to the North, F St and Maryland Avenue to the South, Bladensburg Rd. to the East, and Union Station to the West.

Housing

Housing is found primarily in the Trinidad neighborhood surrounding Gallaudet University. Renters can expect to pay $800-$900 for a one bedroom apartment.

And don't be afraid to contact them! Most renters need to give 30-60 days moving notice.
